It was easy to purchase this at a Best Buy store. I brought it home and loaded the number and I was up and running with my new Gold membership to X-box live.

I think you have to have this to get any real function out of the xbox one. I bought it in a bundle and saved some money. Setting it up for my family was easy.

Xbox live membership for 12 months is usually $59.99 but Best Buy had it on sale for $40. Without it, you are unable to play games online, watch Netflix, etc

I love xbox live gold membership, there are the game with gold which is awesome since there have been some good deals and nice free games.

One who has either a Xbox 360 or Xbox One have to be a fool and not get the Xbox Live Gold Memebership, it just opens so much for everyone in the household.

Xbox live has alot to offer. Kids enjoy all access to demos and game they can purchase if they like the demos. We like the interaction with Xbox 360.

Purchasing these at Best Buy when they are on sale is best way to get them. MS never lowers their price and it's the same benefits/same subscription.

I've had the service since I was a beta tester for it back in 2002. Like it ever since and wouldn't trade it for any other online gaming service.

I think we should be able to play the disk we physically buy offline.

You pretty much need to have this to get the full Xbox experience. Wish they would just make this stuff free, but it is what it is, so get it!

5 stars because it is a simple set up, but as far as a purchase no one really has a choice if they want to use the Xbox One to its full potential.
