    Microsoft will not allow you to play XBox One online without this product - which comes as a surprise for many XBox 360 gamers. They go on sale quite frequently, so pick one up then, and activate it when your current membership expires.

    Purchased at Best Buy so I could use my BB Card and get points for the My Best Buy program. Don't like the Gold Membership requirements put up by MS in order to participate in much of the XBox Online activities, but what can you do?

    I have been a gold member for quite some time and usually renewed my membership online. I stumbled upon the membership in the store and it was at a much lower price so I bought it right away. I didn't have to activate it until my other membership was up. I saved myself over 20 dollars by buying instore!

    If you want to get all of Xbox's benefits, Xbox Live Gold Membership is needed. You can access all of the apps, get free monthly content and play online. This is still a bit pricey, but there's not much you can do about it these days.
