While I will say, I don't mind having to pay for Gold, it's definitely not my first choice. Being a PC user myself, my brother wants a way to play games with his friends. Therefore, the Xbox Live Gold subscription was the way to go as most of his friends reside on Xbox. Since we already canceled automatic renewals from happening on our card, we decided it would most likely be better to buy the entire year as opposed to paying a monthly fee. So, in the long run, if you want to play on Xbox Live with friends and have a generally good time. This is pretty good. Just make sure you moderate your children while they play online games.
