This card gives him access to online play, downloads, and in game purchases which makes his gaming experience much better. This is a great gift idea for the gamer in your house.

The good news is that membership cards are also available in 6-month and 12-month versions, with deeper discounts on the monthly rate. I bought an Xbox year subscription because the Microsoft store stopped selling them so I don’t know how long it will be but third party sellers could run out eventually.

First because Best Buy often has them on sale or discounts them with other purchases such as system or game combos. Microsoft never discounts their Live service. Secondly I like to earn rewards points with my purchases as well. Eventually all those points adds up & means cash back for you. Easy enough to use. Depending on what type of card you buy & if you have the Kinect Sensor - redeeming is easy. Either enter the code on the back of the card or on your receipt or hold up the card so that the Kinect sensor can read it. Done Xbox Live renewed.

One card I ordered online came to me in "inactive" status, but a quick call to customer service fixed that and I have a replacement card coming in the mail. Best Buy rocks!
