I've been an Xbox live gold member for about 10 years. It's a fantastic service and, at $60 per year (retail), it is great value for the money. It keeps getting better as they offer more services and now with their integration with Windows P.C.s

Having Xbox live makes your gaming experience way better than offline. If you have a game that has multi-player, like battlefield 1, then having live is worth the money. Being able to play against other people and friends online is really cool
