I purc hased the xbox gold card online for my son, We had it sent t to the store. They would not let my son pick it up. I had to come in. Went home to use the card on xbox. Xbox said the store did not activate it at the time of purchase. I had to go back to the store which was 45 min. away. I took it back to the Best Buy. Customer service said they could not help me. They said they have nothing to do with the card. I asked for a number to call for help with the card. Was told he did not know who to call.

I just don't do the whole social gaming online, so I don't get anything out of this card except the free games, twice a month. But the free games are not really ones that I would play.

liked idea of on-line gaming but would rather have paid a one time fee as this was a gift

Buyer beware! Best Buy sent out a bunch of Xbox gold cars that were never activated. The store won't replace them, you have to go thru the 800 number and wait for one to ship to you.

I bought this whenever it was offered for 35$ and it was the best price that i could find from the store to multiple sites on the web and it was worth every penny including that it was free shipping. I put that waiting was the only thing that wasn't so great about it and that was because you have to wait about a week until it gets to you but i really dont mind waiting but if your impatient you will probably mind but other than that i had no problems and definatly would order again whenever i need it.

Great gift and very user friendly. When you can't decide on buying a game, this is a great option! Kids can set it up easily!

To all you haters claiming that you shouldn't play Xbox because it cost 60 bucks a YEAR need to realize that it comes out to 5 bucks a month. You can also use Xbox live for free if you only want to play games and unlike ps3 you never have to pay play a game like you do with mmorpgs. The 60 bucks a month is cover the costs to use microsofta servers. Unlike ps3, every pay to use service like Netflix Hulu and all the rest, are served up using microsofts own servers. So you get higher quality video and music than you can using your ps3 or wii.

Coming from a PS3 and never paying for online access its definitely a transition. But you pay to play so it's all good. Also BB price matched for me to get a better price. Done in store. No hassle. Great buy.

Fully satisfied with my 5th year of xbox live. Yes you have to pay unlike on the PSN but you get your monies worth. Updates and DLC for games are rolled out first on XBL since there is a bigger audience. There is also a much larger community on XBL which makes multiplayer games much more enjoyable. Yes PSN is free, but the quality of my online gaming experience is much better on XBL almost matching that of PC gaming

Xbox Live Gold is a mixed bag. On one hand its the best online community for gamers who play on consoles. Other the other hand its silly that Microsoft requires it for video services like Netflix. When you can catch it for a great price its not to bad of a deal though.

I bought this on sale when It was $40. Great buy for my little cousin for his birthday. Recommend it to anyone who likes to play the xbox

Getting the 12-month Gold is a lot more convenient than buying Gold every month. It's only $5 a month this way.

I purchased this for my son for his Xbox. It is for 12 months which is perfect and the price was really good too.

Have a friend met on XBOX. He does not hav alot. Was able to give him XBOX live without overstepping boundries.

Love playing on line. Price is right when on sale..even bought two.one for me and one for my son.

Of course you gotta buy Live, so wait till it goes on sale. Picked this up for 35 instead of 60.

I play multi-player games on Live and it's great - very little lag and meet lots of new gamers.
