It actually costs a little more to do it this way, but I only really use my xbox a few months out of the year, and the full year subscription is a bit of a waste for my situation.

I can download free games by being a gold member on Xbox live ! And it allows me to be a gold member for 3 months ! After the 3 months are up I always go and buy another one ! I love being a gold member because I can play my games online in multiplayer mode !

Good saving for being able to get on xbox network, the only downside of this deal is " IT "SHOULD BE NO CHARGE" to get on the network, I feel we pay enough for consoles and games, controllers, and accessories as it is, and then HAVE-TO PAY TO PLAY!!. YA TINK?? I'll recommend to friends pnly because of the discounted price, if its still available, problems with Microsoft, not Best Buy!!

These go on sale periodically and it's well worth the sale price to build up the massive backlog (external HDD recommended).
