I think it should be cheaper since you have to have it to play some of the games.

Last year the value of the free games was well over the cost of the yearly gold. I just wish it cost less, but the yearly card is the best value.

prepay for live if you can... you will save a ton

Buy a 3 month subscription to Xbox Live Gold and BestBuy gives you another 3 free. As soon as I purchased the card, I received an email from Bestbuy minutes later with the additional 3 month code. Worked like a charm!
