Not only are you able to play online multiplayer, but Gold members also get access to new free games each month and deep discounts on Xbox games and add-ons in the Xbox Store. I wish that they would make the price more reasonable. Since they do offer a somewhat decent discount if you buy a full 12 months, I give this 4-stars. But with as much as you pay for the system and the games, on top of having to pay extra for the Internet service to run the games with friends, I think that it priced too high. Hopefully Microsoft and other gaming companies will find a way to make a more affordable option for families, especially ones that aren't trying to play in huge online groups, but just friends.

Instead it gave me a month or so of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate with no option to keep it as 3 months of Gold. I was okay with the conversion but anyone wanting to use this for 3 months of Live Gold should be aware.

This is because Xbox Game Pass Ultimate includes the features of both Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold in one service. To redeem this code for just Xbox Live Gold, you'll first need to cancel your Ultimate membership.
