The chat pad makes it so easy to text with your friends and other gamers. It's back lit, so texting is never a problem no matter the lighting situation. It also comes with a basic headset so you can chat in games and if you are a skype user too. For the money, it's worth it. I've read reviews where people complained about issues connecting it to their controller,I didn't experience anything like that. It snapped right on and updated effortlessly.

I had the keyboard for the Xbox 360 & was waiting patiently for the keyboard for the Xbox one to come out. So happy i have one now. I can't wait until all my gamer buddies get one.

If you don't have a wireless keyboard this is a must have to use codes while online with your Xbox One. Without either of those items you find yourself having to use your controller to navigate to each letter/number and that just takes forever.

I love that this chatpad keeps me from having to enter codes with the on-screen keyboard. I feel like it doesn't sit super flush with the gamepad but when I look at it there are no gaps. I guess that's just my feeling. Super convenient though.

The pad is not only great for searching on Netflix and other apps, it has buttons to screenshot and record the last 30 seconds of screen activity. I use it to record feats of gaming prowess.

How can you not like a chat pad if you are an online gamer. This makes texting lots easier and faster. Its also great if you are using netflix on your xbox, its easier and faster to type in searches for shows or movies. the backlight also turns on when any button is pressed and shuts off automatically. I dont think it drains the controller battery either, and if it does I dont notice it. You should definitely buy it, totally worth it.

Takes a while to get used to. However, it's way better than using smartglass yet alone the controller itself. Give it a week or two to get used to the x functions, you'll love it though.

The "Microsoft - Xbox One Chatpad - Black, 5F7-00001" makes it a lot easier to play games or type messages. The method of using a joystick to enter information into a game or chat takes too much time. The chat pay, with it's keyboard-like, makes it a breeze to enter information into the Xbox system. I have one for each of my controllers. I want to make it easy for friends and family who are playing games with me, also.

It's disappointing that Microsoft discounted there 1st party chat pad. It gives headphone jack to the 1st gen Xbox One Controllers. Offers one button screenshot / record this / volume control for headset. Uses power from the controller itself (no extra charging / batteries). When you type, even has lighiting under the keys so you can use it in the dark, Works perfectly on the Xbox One X.

This keyboard is light weight. Comes with a headset also. You can use any 3.5mm headphone also.

I use this product on a regular basis. It has come in handy when doing searches or messaging back and worth with friends and on twitch. Only downside is that it doesn't work on Hulu.

Xbox controller is not coming with an auxiliary jack sometime ago is what stemmed this purchase then it’s convenience of typing a media message I found to be very valuable really good quality and if you’re interested you can’t go wrong with it never had an issue and used on average three days a week

One of my favorite accessories. It is a must for gaming, as well as using it for any search function in apps like Netflix. A true time saver and worth every penny.

lightweight and easy to use. Lot better than trying to type out on the default board. Makes searches a lot easier.

Especially awesome if you have the older xbox one remote that doesn't have a headphone slot, but even if you have the newer ones, being able to type much quicker is helpful.

I wanted to get one of these for me and my girlfriend. It is very helpful when I don’t want to use the controller or my phone as a keypad. It also helps with quick shortcuts. On top of that it comes with a chat headset too. It is not for the game audio but it is decent for chatting in a party. I would recommend this keypad. The only thing is that it makes the controller a little bulky.

This product kind of gets in the way but it's super hand for when you have to type alot.

Don't use the headset that came with. It had very bad connector. Chat kb works. Haven't gotten into all the features. Handy as opposed to separate kb.
