Bought the chat pad mainly to enter codes or send messages to friends but it's become useful for other apps like YouTube and Netflix searches plus it really helps when you need to redeem codes for live or at the market place only down side is the input for the headset is overly sensitive to any headset off market so my turtle beaches crackle if they're plugged in

I honestly only purchased this because I bought a refurbished Xbox One and the controller had no headset outlet. It did exactly what I needed it to do and allowed me to plug the headset into the controller. However I've used the chatpad for typing more than I ever imagined. It's just so convenient.

Comes with two macro buttons,one for screen shot, and other for capturing (x)second/minutes of previous game-play which is very handy. Has volume buttons only for the headphones,but supports headphones WITH integrated mic. Most, not all, apps support keyboard input,sometimes like HULU, you have to type each letter by letter by selecting it with thumb stick. As far as games go, it's not like pc. Only recently they've added text chat to VERY few games, such as halo:mcc, and only in the the lobby.. One major issue after about 2 years, is the headphone input jack. it might corrode or get scraped so often that it doesn't make contact properly,leaving your headphones outputting half baked sound,when the input jack on the controller is perfectly fine,though you'd have to go back to the home screen to adjust your headphone volume. Until recently you weren't able to use the 360 chatpad on windows 7,8,or 10. But with the xbox ONE chatpad you can now use it on windows 10 in games or other pc functions!

Great design and easy to use when needing to type.

This was the one thing I missed from the xbox 360. I am glad they finally came out with one on the XBONE.

Nice backlit keyboard, good feel on the keys. Does not interfere with controller and no battery needed

Works like a champ and makes surfing the internet, entering any text in to blanks etc. easy and quick.

Microsoft manufactured accessories are always top quality. The only downsides are the lack of description for the new buttons and those new buttons may not contribute to whatever you're typing. Still an awesome accessory that if you sent messages and name game clips on your console.

Well constructed peripheral for the XBox One Controller. Answers the mail and does what it is supposed to do. Recommend.

I bought the chat pad for both my 360 and now my xbone, the 360 chat pad seemed to secure itself to the controller a little better than this one does, but none the less, this works well, has customizable buttons, and its much easier to use when entering in codes and messages than the controller alone. It also came with a chat headset

I highly recommend the Xbox One chat pad if you like to search videos and movies on the Xbox one. I have been wishing for this item ever since the Xbox one was released. I owned the chat pad for the Xbox 360. You can also recorded game clips and take screenshots with a press of a button.

Makes the gaming experience better. Chatting during gaming is easier with the chat pad.

Bought this for my 13 y/o who was tired of using the onscreen keyboard. He says it's AWESOME to be able to chat with his friends in a quick and efficient manner to include all the other times there is a need to enter characters for something. Buy with confidence!!

This is a long awaited (for me) add-on for my Xbox one controller that makes all typing so much easier without having to deal with an entire keyboard taking up a USB slot. Everything from messaging to entering game codes is a snap with this chatpad, and I highly recommend it.

keypad to small didnt work with my xbox one s controller must be for xbox one only

I have been waiting for this since last year! Works great, easier to install than the 360 version.

I purchased this chat pad to primarily make searching YouTube quicker. It also hides your password when entering it for purchases. I have two little nieces that would love to spend all of my money on Minecraft upgrades so I'm happy to be able to conceal my information from them.

My controller headphone jack broke-so I got this. It’s also just great for chatting.

This is for my new Xbox One. I have a chatpad for my Xbox 360 and used it all the time when searching for movies or YouTube videos. Makes things much easier than using the toggles on the controllers. If you chat or watch entertainment on your Xbox One I highly recommend this.
