Back light is a must for me, that's way I chose this over ant 3rd party chat pad. Plastic buttons give a nice precision feel. Simple update is required when first installed in controller and the xboxone takes you directly to the update screen.

Makes using Netflix and Hulu easier

It also has 2 buttons you can program to any app or to record or take a screenshot of gameplay. It also has a 3.5mm port on the bottom for those still rocking the 1st gen xbox one controller that required an adapter to use regular headphones.

So I have been removing it. Now I first bought this for the audio port built in (and texting was a bonus). I prefer the audio port over the xbox connection because there are more options for headsets. But if you text a lot, this would make more sense to use.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Typing with the controller is loud and probably not noticeable to most but chat pad works and is awesomely quiet Theres a mute and volume buttons and preset buttons that can be configured for quick snap or opening apps with a push of a button.

Easiest way to enter passwords

It is a pain in the butt to type out a show name in Netflix. And forget about typing messages in chat. This chat pad solves all of these issues without getting in the way or adding much bulk to the controller.
