As soon as I started using this headset, folks reported horrible static from me. Chatpad works but headset puts me in a bind, as my original headset is usb. Not real satisfied for what it does...

I had a chat pad for a couple years in order for headsets to work with older xbox one controllers. This alone is silly as the controllers shouldn't require an adapter to use a headset. The chat pad finally died (sound came through but no mic) this spring. I bought a new one Mar 4th. By April 14th it was dead. No mic going through. Did trouble shooting with different controllers and headsets and still not working. These things should not die so easily if they are required for older controllers to function with a headset. Very frustrated!

    Didn't Attach to Controller!

I purchased this for my son's new Xbox One S system. We couldn't get the chat pad to attach to the One S controllers. We tried with the 3 controllers we own. We then took the chat pad and a controller to the store for some tech assistance and 4 different Best Buy Gaming Department employees couldn't attach it either. We were told by one employee that Microsoft is aware of the problem. We just returned it, to the dismay of my son. I hope Microsoft comes out with a new chat pad designed to work with the One S controllers.

I could not get audio right on this, any time you touch the cable you get a lot of static, plus everyone on the line complains about hearing your game audio

I was hoping that this would work like a Bluetooth keyboard when connected to a Bluetooth controller but it does not. I guess only an Xbox will work with this.

    Special Characters are mapped wrong

Most special Characters (Like ! ?) are not mapped to the keys printed on the chatpad. I'm not sure why. I looked online and couldn't find any help. When I press ? (by holding the green button and then .) I get an underscore (_). When i type an & I get an ^. Again i have no clue why these are mapped wrong.

With he nov/dec microsoft update Xbox1 is finally wireless keyboard/mouse compatible. More importantly the headphone jack. Is ONLY compatible with "chat" settings. I had to buy the "turtle beach" brandheadset jack to use my bose headset.( I know some don't like bose, I am one of those idiots that do)

    Well worth it

I'm an avid Xbox One user and have to say that the chatpad is well worth it. It allows me to message faster, enter codes faster and record video and screenshots faster. I use an elite controller and it fits, no problem. It even fits in the case no problem. I love my chat pad, and would recomend it to anyone who has an Xbox One. The only catch with it is: if you have a Kinect, two if the functions that I love about it are null.

the mic port is not solid, so it makes feedback static if you move your headphones at the jack. And the keyboard makes the controller feel more awkward in hand. I wanted to love it.. but its just not a good product, imo.

This is a great addition to your Xbox one controllers. It makes messaging fast and easy. Has headphone controls on it also. Works great in the dark and uses the power of the controller, so now additional batteries or charging. Works with original, 3.5 headphone and Elite controllers.
