The Chatpad works ok but I have to return it everything because the Chat Headset does work at all. The Chatpad feels ok on the hands on the other side the Headset feels cheaply made and feels like it won't last long. If there was another option to go with I would suggest that but this is a Microsoft propitiatory attachment therefore there won't another option.

I just wish it weren't sold separately! It should come with the xbox one.

These new chatpads are garbage. I've returned two of them already and they're all doing the same thing. Half of the characters either don't work or they enter a completely different character that isn't even relevant to what you're typing. I've gone through every troubleshoot available- special characters lock, country/ location, controller updates, etc..., and nothing seems to work. I never had this problem with the chatpads for the Xbox 360. Just more junk produced by a corporate company that charges more money because they only care about the almighty dollar. Microsoft disappoints me anymore.

I just bought another new Microsoft brand Xbox one controller bc they wear out so fast ( i use them often ) and got the chat pad also. I attempted REPEATEDLY to attach it to the controller BUT it will NOT attach to the controller in the slightest! In no way shape or form will I even attempt to exchange this chat pad for another. How 2 BRAND NEW Microsoft products designed to go together are incapable speaks to Microsoft's quality- kind of like windows operating systems lol! Anyway, do NOT waste your time on this product if you have newer controllers. Sadly it's garbage.
