You will regret not having kinect

Besides gaming, using the Xbox one for my cable guide via One Guide was the reason I bought it over a ps4. Without kinect you cannot switch on and/or change both your TV and any boxes you have unless you buy the IR blaster.....this is better....with the camera and voice controls its a must IMHO for the Xbox one.

Pretty sweet

But great camera have twitched a couple times and never had issues.

Great Xbox add-on for kids

My 4 and 6 year old enjoy playing Fantasia and Sports Rivals. The voice commands - or deletion thereof - is disappointing since that was one of the best features of this unit. Not sure what MSFT was thinking. I haven't tried to use the camera for Skype yet.

But if you have the temperance to repeat yourself a couple times then get it. Excellent for when your controllers are out of battery. Have not used for gaming.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.As a longtime XBox 360 and now XBox One owner, I decided I should go against my gut and buy a Kinect. The reason I was hesitant is bc the One is in my man cave which has little room for Kinect games. Of course, I knew going in this wasn't really going to be used for games but for the voice commands. Would it be worth it for just voice commands? I can say emphatically ABSOLUTELY YES. The voice commands are fantastic and took little time to get the hang of. It saves time exponentially and I actually use the DVR function for gaming. I can't comment on how well it actually tracks you for gaming bc I have yet to use it for that. Probably won't and yet, I am still completely satisfied. Nice investment indeed.

Better than 1st gen but...

The Kinect on the Xbox One is an improvement over the original but has slower tracking/recognition than I had hoped and seems a little hit or miss on facial recognition. Haven't had it long enough to appreciate all its functions but glad I got it.
