Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the Xbox One Kinect Sensor's voice control and ease of use, frequently praising its improved accuracy and fun factor. However, some users experienced issues with compatibility and game support, particularly needing an adapter for newer Xbox consoles. The sensor's size was also a point of contention for some customers.

I purchased a day one XBox One and the Kinect came with it. I recently purchased a new one for another room (without the Kinect) and after a few days I decided I like controlling my TV with it. To me it should be part of your bundle if your using it in your home theater (i.e. TV signal running through it).

Get the Kinect Sensor on sale and you can't go wrong. Adds extras to some games such as head tracking in First Person Shooters and is a must if you want to use the Xbox for working out or playing dance games. Its not essential and its good that Microsoft has made it an option rather than a mandatory part of the system.

I think the intelligence of the device is awesome. I do find the fact that it knows when the different users walk up is a little disturbing, but in a cool way. My 7 year old has restrictions on his use (age appropriate games) and it will pause the game when he walks over stating that he can't play unless another user okays it...

I was a little hesitant to get a Kinect sensor at first, but this really put my fears to bed. It recognizes me when I walk in, which gets me online faster. The voice commands also work well.

I have been an early adopter of Microsoft products and purchased the first Kinect product when it launched. The developers took the feedback and the improvements have resulted in an awesome product...... a must have if you're looking to get a good workout or game night with your family.

If you use your xbox for more than playing games then you should definitely grab a Kinect. It's a cool and (mostly) convenient way to control your entertainment system. The drawbacks are that it doesn't always recognize gestures or voice commands and it's greatly lacking in the gaming department for now.

Have several original xbox's and kinects, while they were good in their own right, the new kinect is even better in many ways. More accurate, better voice recognition, definitely worth it.

Picked this up to use in conjunction with the Kinect SDK. Bought online and picked up in store, Super convenient and quick. So far so good. Outside of requiring the Kinect adapter, so surprises. Haven't put it to use in any practical application, but have everything I need to make good use of it.

If you have the Xbox one I would highly recommend getting the Kinect. You don't have to hold anything in your hand and dance away to Just dance. Great exercise for the whole family! Takes pictures and videos it's fun to watch yourselves dancing! You will have a great time!

The only downfall is that with the Xbox One S you need an adapter. Hoping Microsoft creates a Kinect that works direct with the Xbox One S without needing a $40 adapter.

I had to upgrade my kinect sensor from earlier version and am very happy with it comparing the earlier one. However, the voice recognition is not that smooth. Sometimes, we had to repeat the voice commands multiple times

It is way better than the original connect. The only downside is that if multiple people are trying to play and they vary a lot in height - it may have trouble detecting both parties. To remedy you need to move back significantly farther which many cannot do due to home layout.

Haven't used it much. I only have Disney fanstasia to play. Seems accurate and has potential. I like the "xbox on" voice command features. $100 is still a little much for something I don't use that often. But if you want to take full advantage, this thing can be really cool

Kinect is fun overall and make your living room smarter. Kinect is good for tracking body movements but it need improvements in its response to voice. Mostly I have to say commands multiple times. Hopefully Cortana after windows 10 update will improve its audio skills too...
