This is technically the second Kinect we've had. We thought my husband's xbox had died so we replaced everything. I felt like we needed the kinect because we had gotten so used to the voice commands. The main thing is that it doesn't work with the newer xbox without an adapter which you can get free from Microsoft.

The Kinect is a great device that gives you 100% potential of the Xbox One. It's not necessary, but the added features are great.

sometimes when I use the kinect it can not detect me. I wave my hands jump up sand down ms nothing. but when it works it's awesome

I really like the Kinect for its easiness and awesome voice commands. For anything other then gaming you don't need the controller. I love entering the room and just saying "Cortana Xbox on" and its very accurate and responsive it's so cool! I would recommmed this to any Xbox one user it really comes in handy

It was a good way to get my wife in to the xbox. She loves the dance games and uses xbox fitness everyday to work out

Game changer when you can come home from work and with a simple command of "Xbox On" you're whole entertainment system is alive.

I got it for really only the purpose to play dance central, but other then that its not worth it. The voice works so-so which is not worth it, and unless you have a game you want to play with the Kinect its not worth getting one. The nice thing is that it does come with dance central, so you already have one thing you can do.

I like being able to talk to the xbox or have facial recognition as a password

Original Kinect that came with system broke malfunctioned. Have had this one a few months and it hasn't had any issues.
