    The kinnect is able to recognize you and sign you in upon starting up the XBox One.

    I bought this thinking I was missing out by buying a sunset overdrive Xbox one that comes without a kinect sensor. I really wasn't missing anything without it. Now that I have a sensor, I don't use it. I'm not even aware it's there. It's not a purchase for everyone.

    The XBox One is a great system on its own, but adding the Kinect adds additional functionality. The key feature I wanted was the IR Blaster that is included so the XBox can control the TV volume. The most surprising feature was that it recognizes people in the room and will log them into the system (if you have set it up).

    We had to purchase a separate Kinect for our Xbox one S because it was no longer included. This is required to use the voice activation feature of the Xbox. Doesn't seem to work as well with the new Xbox, but that is not the Kinect's fault.
