Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the Xbox One Kinect Sensor's voice control and ease of use, frequently praising its improved accuracy and fun factor. However, some users experienced issues with compatibility and game support, particularly needing an adapter for newer Xbox consoles. The sensor's size was also a point of contention for some customers.

I wish there were more commands to vocalize with the kinect.

Similar issues to Xbox, good but not for us

Xbox had some nice features, but it didn't suit us. Using the Kinect was hard in our home, because a toddler and a cat running around interferes with the sensitivity and function of the movement "reading" - plus there was a really long delay in "updating" the system when we turned it on the first time. We did purchase a refurbished one, but when we first turned it on it took the better part of an hour to "update" the system, and once it finally booted up the controller then had to update. And finally we purchased the game it took an extensive time to download/install as well. Once it was up and running, almost 2 hours later, the games were nice, but the function wasn't that smooth and it wasn't worth our time and effort in the end.

The Kinect for Xbox one works well. The kids get plenty of fun from the dance and kung fu games. I find myself going back to the controller often, though, as there is still a bit of room for improvement in overall functional performance with this version of the kinect.

We purchased this Kinect for our Xbox One as we wanted to take advantage of our Kinect games. Right out of the box I felt this Kinect was a more durable design than the previous Xbox version. The quality of photos and videos is definitely sharper as well.

Kids have enjoyed playing it so far. Had wii for 10 yrs but keep having issues with not being able to read game dvds so thought this would be a good upgrade and better since downloading games is now an option plus doubles as a DVD/bluray player.

I have found myself thoroughly enjoying the Incredible capabilities experienced since I purchased the X-Box One Kinect Console. The control and convenience experienced are second to none. I have been frequently using the ability to converse on Skype too!

Works well, but Cortana can be difficult to navigate. As with xbox360 kinect, it does not always hear voice commands correctly. I mostly use it to navigate the screens. However, there is very little information about Cortana navigation and commands.

Read the Box - Must Purchase Extra Connector

This was my fault. The product works well. I got it home and realized that if you have the XBOX One S, you have to purchase an extra connector to make this work. Kind of silly that they wouldn't include it. Not Best Buy's fault. Just frustrated.

My daughter absolutely LOVES the X Box One Kinect, compared to the Wii, because you don't have to hold a controller for it to know your moves and she can dance her tail off with Just Dance 2016! So much fun for her Nana and myself to watch!!!

What's most impressive is face recognition, which works without fail and works very quickly. It's not just convenient, but also awesome! adds a sense of ownership to the experience when you can yell out commands to it.

We are an Xbox family. When we updated to the Xbox I was a little unsure. However the new system and this Kinect sensor is awesome. We love the dance games and family fun games. I love that more people can play them at one time.

The Xbox one was a gift for my husband and he had the kinect with his 360 so i thought it would only be appropriate to get it for the xbox one for him. I enjoy playing the games that use the kinect more than a regular controller.

I bought this for my XBox, and after installed it, it is working great. It takes video while I am dancing to the XBox, and later when I play it it's really fun. Worth buying it.

I love playing the games on kinect when I have friends over and have had a couple adult beverages. Totally worth the money for that alone, plus the added benefits of being able to tell your Xbox what to do is a no brainer.

The Kinect provides the ability to control the Xbox One via voice. It also can be 'taught' to recognize who is speaking and can provide customized screens for the user. I do not use it for games but find it very useful as a remote control.

The kinect is pretty bad. It doesn't hear you most of the time. You constantly have to repeat yourself to get it to hear you... when you have to volume up good luck on getting it to hear you at all. Good if you want to use twitch I guess...

Comes in handy when your lazy and don't want to find a remote. I hate that Microsoft discontinued the hand gestures. And sometimes I have to talk pretty loud to get it to hear you. But overall it is a pretty neat piece of equipment.
