I went online and read that a special adapter is required for it to work. Shouldn't that be written on the box, shouldn't the instore reps inform us, and why isn't that clearly stated online?

You have to say hey Cortana. When you have other windows devices, every device tries to hear what you are saying. They should allow you to change back to Hey xbox.

Aside from that though I haven't been too impressed with the new kinect. The 360 is much better imo. This one doesn't tilt / adjust and seems to have trouble reading / recognizing.

I used the old Kinect to scroll thru Netflix with ease. I am also disappointed in the games that are available for it. However, it works as intended.
