Out of the box, after putting the batteries in, this remote worked perfectly and did not need to be added to the Xbox One system to start working.

If you own the Xbox one this is a must have. The lights come on to illuminate the buttons as soon as you touch the remote. Easy to use and convenient.

I like watching movies on my Xbox and having a remote is easier than having to use a controller. Remote has a nice finish and is easier to use IMO.

The remote makes starting and stopping games and Netflix so much easier without turning on the controller so many times. Saves batteries and time!

I watch tv through my xbox one and wanted a remote for the tv part of the game system. Thsi fills the bill perfectly and I am very happy with it.

The Microsoft remote is a fantastic device that allows one to control the console without using a controller; however, it's biggest drawback is that it needs line-of-sight, unobstructed view of the console itself in order to function. We have used the Playstation remotes and have grown accustomed to the ability to use them from anywhere in the room... or the next room over to control the console.

Easier to use verses the Xbox controller. Also, buttons illuminate whenever the controller is picked up...which is very convenient in dark rooms.

I use the Xbox one to watch movies and the remote is so much more convenient than the consoles controller. It's small and very simple to use.

This remote is really cool. Lights up when you pick it up and is great for when you just want to use the x box for watching Netflix or Hulu.

works as expected if your watching tv, blurays, youtube there is no need to turn the controller on. backlit for dark rooms is a nice touch.

It's easy to use and like the fact that you can turn the television volume up and down without going through the voice commands of the xbox.

build is good, easy to hold and does what it is supposed to do. Makes life convenient. My only problem with it is buttons, at times, are a little hard to press...

I picked up this remote last month and have used it on a daily basis. The design is sleek and matches my XB1. I like the fact that i can use it to control my Xbox, and all the apps like Netfilx. Also controls the tv volume so that is a plus. Only thing it is missing is the numbers to be able to jump to channels faster, other than that it is a defenite must have.

Purchased this remote for my wife who hates using the xbox controller to change channels, she was thrilled to use thos remote instead.

I like the size of the control and the ease of using it. I was watching movies with my game controller and it was a little more difficult to navigate with it. The control is compact and although small, easier to find since all the other controllers are the same size for my TV, Surround Sound system, DirecTV and Blu Ray player.

this is excellent--beats trying to using a game controller for DVD playing, that's crazy. This is just like a standard DVD-player remote like you are already used to.

Works exactly as it should. Not completely necessary but is a good option for those who don't want to use the traditional controller.
