Have to say that it is so much easier than using the controller .and also love that it lights up when you move it

Very handy to use for general things, without having to turn back on an idle controller, say during a movie or using an app. It's smooth, and the back lighting turns on when the remote moves. Pretty neat.

I bought this remote because I wanted my Xbox One to be the central media player for my family. Not everyone plays games and get confused with a game controller. I am glad they kept the buttons to a minimum, but there are times I need a button that is not on here. The remote uses IR instead of blue tooth, so it is hard at times for the XB1 to pick up the button presses. Better than nothing, but I can't fully recommend.

I wanted a remote for simple uses like dvds and netflix etc and got aicknof my controller always turning off so i decided to pick this up and let me tell ya it was well worth the buy. Just moving the remote it acknowlegdes the movement and lights up ive been on the same set of batteries for sometime now so no need to worry about replacing them alot. If you are hesistant to buy this do not worry and pull the trigger and be happy, it also feela great in your hand

I was honestly surprised at how well this little remote worked. It's got an awesome feature where when you bump or move it slightly it lights up, which is extremely useful when you're shuffling around for it in the dark. Xbox was smart enough to incorporate volume controls into the firmware so that you can turn up or down the volume using the remote when the surround sound is separate from the Xbox. It's a great functioning little remote - should have been the first accessory I bought!

Great remote, no need to use the controller anymore and having to turn it off. Must buy if you watch tv,hulu,Netflix or any other services on xbox one

If you run all your media (including TV) through the Xbox one as I do, then you will know how both awesome/annoying it can be. The most annoying part is controlling everything via voice/controller. While fine for a lot of things, its not the best for all situations. The media remote solves this problem by being able to control all common functions in a familiar form factor. It works great, is well built and feels good in hand. Highly recommended if you use your Xbox for things like TV.

My wife was originally going to buy me the larger remote control for the Xbox One. I'm really glad we picked this one up instead. I really like the auto on/off feature (makes using it at night very easy.

this remote is better than i expected.. it has a very nice texture to it and it lights up every time you use it.

This works great on my xbox one but have to use a separate remote to use tv features unless you have a cable box to hook up into it. I do not have cable in the bedroom where my xbox is hooked up. Not very happy with this purchase. My xbox360 remote could at least turn on my tv and change volume on my samsung tv so far xbox box one remote does not. One good thing is if using netflix or watching videos I can use remote and save controller power as controller tends to stay on during viewing and drain power very fast if connected to headset.

I rated this a 4 due to fact that it does not control my cable box or other devices. Still have to go through an IR blaster to control everything else. Otherwise it is small and has a nice sealed buttons which is easy to keep clean. The bottom is rounded which fits the hand good, but let's it roll around on the center piece of the reclining love seat so sometimes it disappears. Work way better for controlling tv functions on the XBOX the using the gamer controls. Save the batteries too.

This X-Box remote is probably the best accessory I have had for any of my gaming systems! I loved it so much that I even bought a second one for my upstairs Xbox! My only complaint is that I am now getting a divorce and my wife (soon to be ex) is taking both remotes for her Xboxes and these remotes are unavailable to purchase! Bring them back! Love this remote!

When you want to control your Xbox One as a Blu-ray/DVD player this is the best option. Works perfectly.

Works extremely well. The only thing I'd do different is put indicators above which buttons would reference ABXY buttons on the game pad. There are several onscreen functions that only work if you know which of these there are.

This is a must have for the XBOX One. With the full integration of cable and streaming with the XBOX One console this is a must. Sure you could use a controller but you have to power it on and then you can do what you need. As a power saving method the controller will turn off and you need to power it back on to use it. The XBOX One remote is so easy. The keypad lights up when there is any change in position in the remote, so when you pick it up it is ready to go.

I bought this because I watch a lot of Hulu, Netflix, and other video services on my Xbox One. It does what it is supposed to do. No more no less. The good thing about it is that all you have to do is take it out of the box, pop batteries in it, and start using it. No setup is necessary. The only downside is there is no numerical keypad to directly input a channel. It would also be nice if it had a QWERTY keypad to make searching in the video apps easier and less tedious. Overall a very functional remote and worth the money.

TL;DR - With all the tech available I don't understand why Microsoft decided to stick with IR. So if you are not directly in front of it it will not work, like ever other tv. So if you wanted to hide the Xbox One in an entertainment center you'd need and IR blaster for it to work through the cabinet door. Also, being that the Xbox One can control the tv as well that would allow you to control it from the kitchen if it were Bluetooth. It's a remote, you point it and push buttons and it works.

Very good, light weight and small, remote for when one doesn't want to mess around with a controller
