You NEED this remote if you watch TV/Netflix/ect on your xbox. Saves from all of the frustrating issues when it doesn't understand when you speak to it...

I don't have a Kinect attached to the Xbox One that I'm using this on, so after the purchase I had to buy a infrared remote repeater. They can be found for under $10 elsewhere, but be aware that this won't work when controlling your TV without it! I can't point the remote at the Xbox One; I have to aim it up or to the side. For whatever reason, it seems that aiming it straight causes interference with the infrared remote repeater. Once I got he repeater installed and read other tips about how to aim it, it works great. I don't have to keep a controller near by, and with the backlighting, it's real easy to find the buttons I need. I bought this mainly because I use the Xbox One as my Blu-Ray/DVD player in the bedroom, and didn't want another device. It works better than a controller, as with the controller I'd hit the bumpers and jump tracks or stop the movie and then spent a few minutes getting back to the same point. With the remote, it's obvious what the button I'm pressing is going to do. It's small so it won't take up space on your nightstand either. And since it was much cheaper than a Logitech Harmony, it was a better option for me.

This was good buy for me the buttons light up when you move it an it's good size I would recommend for those who don't just use their Xbox for games

The remote instantly worked as soon as I installed batteries into the device. Very responsive and easy to use. If you use your Xbox for the other apps aside from games, I highly recommend this product. It will save you money in the long run since you don't need to use your main controller to watch videos, which will save battery power and battery purchasing.

Purchased this as a stocking stuffer & my husband uses it all the time. The range is excellent too. He can turn his console off from the other room.

I read the reviews on this remote and I was sure it would be a good product. Most Microsoft hardware is well designed and made. Well this is not any of them. It might fit some hands but it is slippery in mine and although it feels good the buttons are terrible. And if your just off a little from line of site it doesn't work. That might be the fault of the Xbox but one should expect better of a Microsoft product.

I got the remote so I could easily watch a movie and have a remote. It performs it's job great but is missing a few things like no eject button and no way to just control the tv.

The remote works perfectly to control DVDs. My wife does not like to use the XBox One gaming control to control DVDs so this has worked perfectly.

I mainly purchased the Xbox One S for the 4K player and, because of this, I decided to get a remote for the ease of watching movies. I went back-and-forth between this and the off-brand version but, ultimately, I decided to stick with a Microsoft product. The remote is comfortable and easy to use. I have not been disappointed with my purchase.

My husband and I love this remote. Now we don't have to turn on our Xbox Controller every time Netflix asks if we want to keep watching haha

This has thus far been the best accessory I've purchased for my Xbox one. I love how small it is and also that it lights up when in use. I was upset that they didn't have them out at first when the Xbox came out, but I'm glad it was finally released. I use my xbox everyday mostly for tv viewing and it has made it more convenient for me rather than using the controller itself.

I guess it is easier to use than the controller, but I wish it had more features like a regular television or cable remote.

This is best controller for the Xbox one because you can actually control YouTube, most third party controllers are not able to use this feature.
