Glad i didnt let negative reviews stop me from getting this remote. I didnt buy one right away from reviews i read. I decieded to get one anyway and very happy i did. Using controller as a remote eats up batteries and is a two handed operation. I have a 8 Series Samsung TV and a Yamaha reciever, was extremely happy when i set up my system that this remote turns on my TV and my reciever after the Xbox boots all the way, not even sure how its happening ( either hdmi signal sensing or infrared, maybe both. Since my reciever is hooked up optically only to system) Buttons light up when you move the remote. Best surprise was when i got it to adjust the volume on my reciever.

It is fairly good but needs more functions to be able to compete with a regular remote from a Blu-Ray player.

In my opinion this is the one accessory that is absolutely worth buying for the XBone.

My family doesn't like talking to Cortana so this prevents that need.

It's a very useful remote.. small, fits good in your hand, and also works to turn up your t.v. I like the fact that you don't always need to use your controller.. you can use it for anything on the Xbox one.. I watch alot of Netflix and it's useful for it.. great remote..

I am glad they have a remote for my xbox 1, I use my xbox for tv and this is great

I needed a remote for our xbox one because we could never function the controller properly when watching a movie, which is not that often. This remote tiny and sleek. Smooth operation, way better than a controller, when I am not a gamer myself.

This is an awesome addition especially when using Netflix, Hulu and/or OneGuide.

Nice remote but not RF. Has to have line of site to Xbox. works ok.

Would like it if it was a little larger and had some more buttons to mimic the controler, but very handy.

We haven't found a big need for this yet, but if we rent cd movies we have it?

Microsoft licensed PDP to create a controller but that one is way big and you never need the number keys unless your watching TV which I don't do. This controller is small and has everything you need to do netflix or amazon or stream anything.

I got this so I can watch movies on the Xbox without having to use the controller. Makes it just like a blu ray player. Easy to use, so anyone can use the Xbox as a player even if they don't know how to use the console for gaming.

This remote is great for if you watch TV through your Xbox one. It is IR though so you have to point it at the console. It doesn't have a ton of buttons but everything is there to control most TV functions and browse the guide. It would be nice if it had numbers though to enter channels manually.

Works seamlessly with the consol. Great for media like Netflix, Hulu, bluray, etc

I purchased this item because I use my XBOX ONE as a media center almost as much as for playing games. Using the controller to scroll thru media was a pain. I purchased this remote and the only regret was not purchasing it sooner. it is fantastic.
