I probably could have dug deeper into this before picking it up but I didn't so I did not know that it will not diurectly control the TV via IR. I thought I could use the remote on the XBox and the IR would control my TV's volume. Apparently this only works if you have the Kinect and it is out in the room all the time.

I have a smart remote that I am unable to figure out how to program to the Xbox One to use for media. So the Xbox One Media Remote fits the bill! The remote feels comfortable in the hands. The backlit keys are great for watching in a dark/dimly lit room. I only with the remote were a little bit taller/longer due to ergonomic preference for self; but I don't find myself pressing the wrong buttons or anything like that. The size is similar to that of the Apple TV or Roku remote, for those wondering. Overall, it is a great remote and convenient for its media-specific buttons. You can even use it to shut down/start up the console and (for the most part) navigate through the home menu (there are no A, B, X, Y buttons). Highly recommended remote for the Xbox One!

Would have got 5 stars if it was blue tooth. A lower price would have been better.

I received this as a gift and it has been amazing! I have been using it daily to watch the streaming apps on my Xbox and it has been so easy. I have been so happy to use that instead of a controller to watch the shows.

Its a nice addition to the system, but should really be included with the system.

If you watch netflix or any tv or anything on your xbox... just buy it its worth it you don't need to turn it on like a controller you just pick up the remote press the x to turn the xbox on and just go.

it is very lightweight and is illuminated, you can touch anywhere on the remote, even on the sides of the device and the key light up, has all basic controls for media and video as well as menu buttons for more advanced control

This remote makes it much more easy to navigate through a DVD or bluray! I was tired of having to turn my controller on every time I wanted to pause or rewind or do anything.

Purchased for my son so he could watch movies easier at night. Allows us to keep his main controller on the charger when he's not using it. Simple controls and works out of the box. No setup required.
