I wanted a remote that I could use to watch movies and on demand entertainment. This product does just that with some caveats. While the remote feels smooth with its soft touch back, the buttons are flush and can sometimes be difficult to press without looking. Also, the remote must be directly pointed at the xbox with no interference for it to function properly. While the remote works smoothly for most all functions of navigating the home screen and menus, it can be difficult to use the "main menu" functions when watching movies (you'll have to fast forward through previews instead). Overall this is a great product, but I wish it would also control the volume buttons on my tv (must have tv capabilities connected through the xbox).

It is nice to use it instead of having to use a regular Xbox remote for Netflix and such. The only reason I docked a star is the lack of ABXY buttons, but it has not been a huge hindrance.

great remote with basic functions that are easy to use

This is my go to controller for anything that is not a game. I even have it setup to control the volume on my sound system and power on/off my TV. I love this remote

Got tired of using my Xbox controller for media purpose. Glad I bought the Xbox media controller, made life just a little bit better.

I was tired of using my Xbox controller to watch my dvds so decided to buy this controller. Works very well and easy enough to use just like other remote controls.

This remote is very useful if you like to watch a lot of media like Netflix or Hulu on your XBOX One. I just wish it had a button to turn the XBOX on and off like the 360 media remote had.

Xbox controller auto shut off can be annoying, but the remote is the perfect solution. Plus it lights up when it moves slightly. Better than controller for media.

Ordered this to simplify using my Xbox for BluRays. Works as advertised and definitely is much easier than the controller for watching movies and such. I would definitely purchase again.

This remote is a must have for those whose Xbox one is the center of their entertainment system. It is nice consolidating remotes and extremely easy to setup.

I bought this for my brother because I'm tired of hearing Xbox turn on, Xbox turn off, so if you want something cheaper than a controller and easy to use, please try this out.

This remote works very well. Controls the Xbox One for everything I need except games. It's nice to have so you don't need to turn on a controller every time.

This remote does exactly what it is needed to do: serve as a convenient remote, to watch movies. Simple key layout and fits easily in adult or child hands.

I got the remote to use it for the media in XBox. The remote does not have all the regular function as to other regular or universal remote. There is not proper instruction but it serves the purpose. do not expect that to work like a regular remote.

This remote is a great addition to my xbox. Its way easier to use for media content than the game controllers. This may be my best buy of the year so far.

I recently upgraded to the Xbox One S from just using a 360, and I owned the old 360 Media remote. I have to say Microsoft knocked it out of the park on the Xbox One version. With the 360 version it was a glossy plastic look which was a finger print magnet. One the Xbox One version it's all a matte soft touch plastic feel. The buttons are very responsive, and the fact it has backlighting now is a godsend from the 360 version. Only note I will say though is that you have to set up OneGuide with your TV of you want to be able to power on and off your TV and use the volume controls.

It looks good and works good. The only thing that I wish is that it was wireless. It uses IR and that means that you have to always have good line of sight to the XBOX one.
