It's a 4k Blu-Ray player with an included Xbox!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've always been an Xbox fanboy. This console is no different. Everything it promises, it delivers. The size is amazing, the controller is great, and assuming you have a compatible 4k tv, it looks amazing. BE SURE TO PURCHASE THE CORRECT TV!!! We bought a Vizio tv for a great deal thinking it would work, but the Xbox has very specific requirements for 4k. Go for a higher end tv like Samsung or LG. Otherwise, it's perfect!

Great improvements
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned multiple 360s and 2 Xbox Ones. I got the One S for the hard drive space and the 4k ability. It works great. Very easy setup and works smoothly.

Great gift
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The fact that stand alone 4K blu-ray players cost around the same price fully justifies this system. Pair that with the ability to control my tv and receiver and the awesome gaming I already love, and you've got a winner. The fact that it is smaller and has no power brick makes it easier to place and nicer to look at. Worth every penny that my wife paid for it.

More Storage, Less Space
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great redesign of the One. Larger hard drive for more games. Less space taken up on my media shelf. Really happy the power brick is gone.

If you're buying an XB1, this is the one to get.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The new Xbox One S is a fantastic purchase if you're buying an XBox One for the first time. It not only has more powerful hardware than the original version, but is considerably smaller in footprint and can be stood vertically. The touch sensitive power button, which allowed pets and toddlers to accidentally turn your Xbox off mid-game, has been replaced by a true physical button. And it plays 4K UHD discs, something the just announced PS4 Pro will not do (surprising news since Sony is a player in the UHD market). I actually bought this in addition to my original XB1 and I can say the power difference is palpable. The S navigates menus much faster, and apps snapped while playing a game are much more responsive. I'm not sure it's worth another $300-$400 only for the added speed, but I also wanted to buy a 4K UHD player, all of which currently cost as much as the XB1S, so I figured why not kill two birds with one stone. Overall a worthy purchase if you're entering the XBox world, but not sure I'd recommend as an upgrade from the original XB1 unless you want UHD playback (and 4K streaming) capability. If you do, it's a no-brainer.

Great for Gamers
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I sold my PS4 to get the Xbox one S and I have to say I don't regret it. This system is great. The graphics are amazing and the load time is awesome as well. It also doesn't hurt that it plays 4K movies. The movie maze runner looks tremendous. If you have a 4K TV this is a must but if you don't I wouldn't t purchase. I am not a hardcore gamer but I am impress with the Xbox one S anyone that buys this system won't be disappointed.

Worth every penny!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a "bulky" XOne but my boy! this one is really small in comparison. It has a good overall design and for game purposes it's pretty much the same console that all we know and love. It comes with 4K bluray right out the box and HDR so it's a cheaper option for those 4K bluray movies.

Best Xbox Ever!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the original Xbox One 500gb. As most know the original was a beast. It looked and was the same size as a old VCR player. My DVR box was smaller. The One S is a huge improvement from the original. It's way smaller no more huge power brick and a bit quicker. The 2 tarabite drive was a god send. I can load way to many games now. The old one could hold like 3. Don't waste your money on a 500gb version. Pros: way smaller, better looking, faster, 4K streaming and blu-ray, HDR, better frame rates in games from the old one and the new updated controller is way better. Cons: game installs are a bit faster but still painfully slow, no Doby HRD support only HDR 10 would like to have seen both supported and no 4k gaming. Bottom line this is the current gen future proof game system and the cheapest 4K blu-ray player on the market. If your looking to get a Xbox now the S is the one to get. If you can wait a year get the new Scorpio.

Awesome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am extremely happy with my purchase of the Xbox One S. It's so much smaller, and the 4K capabilities are excellent. Also it was quite an upgrade for my original 500 gigabyte system. Now I can fit all of my games and I still have 500 gigabytes left. Absolutely incredible.

Great Console!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am so happy they took out the power brick for the xbox finally. Makes it so much easier to transfer from TVs and takes up less room behind the tv. Great quality picture and auto detects if you have a 4k TV. No real big differences besides the removal of the power brick and the ability to play 4K movies.

4K HD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It took some monkeying around to get the one S to actually play a 4K disc. Google helped with that has a few issues with my 4k TV (2014 LG 4K 3D) but overall it has an awesome picture. I bought this for the improved controller and it is much better than the controller on my earlier xbox 1 but still not as responsive as my stock ps4 controller, but I can live with it. Especially nice is the 1TB HDD

Great deal it's a 4K player and an XBOX ONE
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a lot smaller than the original X1 and no huge power brick! Also a 4K player for my TV. You can't buy a 4K player right now for less than $300. Took awhile to download all the updates but console does seem to be a little faster. I think it's a great console. Plenty of free to play content on XBOX LIVE GOLD. NEVERWINTER and STAR TREK ONLINE are both enjoyable with lots of content.

Not a required upgrade, but worthwhile for many
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded to this unit from the Elite console. I use my Xbox One for TV/streaming/apps/movies and exclusive games and my PS4 for everything else. First impressions: The design is much improved. Very happy with the build quality and the size. Navigating the dashboard is much more responsive than my Elite console, which was surprising to me as the Elite has a hybrid drive. Load times in games also seem slightly better. I'm assuming this is because of the larger HDD having a much higher data density resulting in lower latency. The console is still whisper quiet. I use the Kinect and I am waiting for Microsoft to send me the free adapter (ordered it yesterday, got an email notification today that it will arrive tomorrow). In the mean time having an IR blaster built into front of the console is outstanding, it works just as well as the Kinect when controlling my audio receiver, tv, and cable box. If it only had microphones built in I wouldn't even need the Kinect. In the mean time using the Xbox smartphone app provides a very polished experience. I'm not sure many people realize how powerful the app is. IMO it's better than the Harmony app with the virtual remote and the interactive tv guide where you can browse everything on tv and just tap what you want to watch. 4K Blu-ray playback worked great - I popped in Batman vs. Superman and it loaded right up and played back flawlessly. (Also for anyone wondering, an actual 4K blu-ray disc will playback just fine on a 1080p television. I tested the console out on a 4K Samsung TV and a 1080p Panasonic Plasma). Lastly, as pointed out in reviews online, the graphics card in the Xbox One S is overclocked compared to the standard Xbox One. This results in marginal improvement in frame rates in game. One more significant thing I noticed was when playing Halo 5, which is a game that adjusts its resolution up and down to maintain a high frame rate. On the Xbox One S the game ran at a NOTICEABLY higher resolution most of the time (1080p or close to it). I hooked the Elite console back up to make sure I wasn't imagining it, and scene for scene there was an obvious difference. This said, trying out the DOOM demo, another game that adjusts its resolution on the fly, I was unable to tell a difference between the two consoles (even with chromatic aberration disabled). This is likely due to the type of anti-aliasing the game uses which causes it to look quite blurry compared to most games (the PS4 version is just as blurry from this). Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

The best xbox one
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After hearing about the Xbox one S at E3 I couldn't wait to get one. The xbox one S has it all a slim design that's as small as the xbox 360 slim. and a bumped up performance which for some games that are not locked in on frame rate makes the game run better. Now if you have a 4K television with HDR this xbox one S makes games look even better than a PS4 or it will upscale games and make them look as good as the up coming PS4 Pro. One more thing Xbox one S offers 4K bluray playback no other console will offer this at $300 making it the cheapest 4K Bluray player. And Yes PS4 Pro will not play 4K bluray cause it won't have the drive to play the discs.

I think its worth the upgrade
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this after getting a new TV and thought I haven't noticed a ton of differences thought I do feel like it is faster. I am glad I am 4K ready! Can't wait. I love how its compact. They finally lost the power pack! ***If you contact microsoft and you're upgrading, you can get a kinect adaptor.

Excellent Update to the Xbox One Family
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Xbox One S is smaller, looks great (yes even though it is white) and I love the fact that it has actual buttons and not capacitive ones like the original Xbox One. The One S plays 4K Bluray disks and output HDR if you have HDMI 2.0a ports on your 4k TV. if you do not, then pretty much no HRD for you. Also, if you do use Kinect you will need the Kinect adapter for Windows to hook it up to the One S. There is no dedicated Kinect port on the One S. The Kinect on the One S will take up one of the USB ports. HDMI 2.0a ports are needed for HDR but HDMI 2.0 cables will still work with the new 2.0a ports and also work with HDR.
