    I bought this for my son after he got his xbox one now he can use the same head set on both gaming consoles .

    The best thing about this perhaps is that its popularity signaled to Microsoft that a built-in 3.5mm headphone jack was an absolute necessity for their controllers, which is what happened. If you still need an adaptor, it's worth the money. But it might be worth it to just purchase one of their new controllers.

    First generation controllers didn't come with built in 3.5mm jack, so I had to buy this. Works flawlessly.

    was told that the gioteck headset I bought for my xbox one would need the Xbox headset adapter. Tried using the adapter which didn't work with the headset. Plugged the headset directly into the controller and it worked ok. Only complaint that there was some echo which I hoped the adapter would have taken care of.
