Customers are saying

Customers love the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter's compatibility and sound quality, frequently praising its ease of use and convenient volume controls. While some users mentioned connection issues and a bulky design, the positive feedback on functionality and affordability outweighs these concerns. Many appreciate the mute button and find the price reasonable. However, a few users noted concerns about battery life and the adapter's size.

Works with my Turtle Beach headset, but these audio settings override the ones on the headset itself, which I found to be strange.

Works very well with a beats by Dre or turtle beach headphones. Sits comfortably at bottom of controller so it will not get in the way. Great product.

Worked great for me, not for a friend, most headsets work fine, but not all, check comparability before purchase.

this headset adapter works great with any headset, the price is ok but it really helps since xbox one controllers cant fit 3.5 mm headsets.

Works very well for all my games. I love it. I can play games late into the night or early in the morning without bothering my wife and child, who love to sleep! Nice to have essentially wireless in-game audio. VERY very simple to use, do the update (type xbox one controller update in Bing), and then use ANY (and I mean ANY) headphones to listen to game audio.

It's the closet to wireless for the price as you will get. In addition, you will no longer have to worry about using uncomfortable headsets to listen to every detail on the games as you can use any pair of headphones. I have connected my Skullcandy Titans, RocNation Aviator, Mix Master & Hesh 2 and all of them work Amazingly. Great purchase...

For starters I bought this to use my turtle beach xp510's on the xbox one. When I first got it it was confusing as to which button controls which action. After playing a little while with it, it turned out great. The sound on the headphones is amazing and crystal clear chatting with this thing. At the very beginning when this adapter came out sometimes there would be an echo in the headset. I fixed this by: 1. Having the latest xbox one update 2. Updating the controler 3. Downloading the latest firmware on the headset. Ever since I did those three things, everything has gone smoothly. If it was a plug and play device I would give it 5 stars, but you have to do a little work.

Before this was available, I had been using my own adapter that I made. That worked well, but this offers a little better functionality. After the controller update, Xbox One also allows Dolby which sounds so much better now through my Astro A40's.

This item works very well. Game and chat audo sound great. I have a PX22 headset from Turtle Beach. When I use the headset on PC, and with all of the cables running through the preamp on the XBox 360, there is mic feedback so you can hear yourself talk. This is nice to keep you from yelling into the mic because your voice is muffled by the ear pieces. You can plug just the headset into this adapter (not using the pre amp), and everything works and sounds great, but there is no mic feedback. I've read that you can hook up the pre amp and get it, but it makes the sound quality decrease due to multiple volume controls, plus you would have cables from the TV to your chair. It would be nice for Microsoft implemented a microphone feedback option in the firmware so it would work with any stereo headset with a mic.

    Great Upgrade for Sound

This controller adapter allows gamers to hear the game being played as well as voice in 2-way format (like a phone call). This is an improvement over the normal sound heard thru the normal controller headphone jack... Plus, the easy to access volume controls are great.

Best if you want to mute the TV audio

I got this so that I dont have to keep the TV loud while playing. It fits to the controller after which you have to connect the controller to the xbox one via usb and update the firmware. After that, connect any regular headphone jack and you are good to go. I use them with my iphone headphones too and I get stereo !

Mic doesn't work when using Beats Headphones

    Posted .

While the adapter is great and I can now use my Beats to listen to my game audio at night, the microphone built into the headset wire is not detected as a microphone in-game. I have the exact same issue with my apple EarPods. The point was to listen to the game audio AND chat. I can use the adapter to chat with my old xbox 360 wired headset, but for that I'd just use the bundled headset that came with the Xbox One. Both the apple EarPods and Beats by Dre use the CTIA standard so I do not know what the issue is. This is even after performing the controller update.

    Some Pros and some Cons

    Posted .

Overall I like the headset adapter a lot and it really adds a lot of functionality to certain types of wired headsets that you wouldn't otherwise have. I purchased this headset several months ago. Below I've mentioned some quick Pros and Cons and added a video review too. PROS: + Allows the use of a stereo headset for both game sound and voice chat. + Nice Button Layout (Mute but especially easy to press) + Essentially turns a wired headset into a wireless headset + Game sound mute functionality build into the adapter (just double press game sound button) + Seems to work great with games, Blu Rays, YouTube app, video on Xbox one in general CONS: - Worthless unless used with the Xbox One - Crackly Sound at times while gaming (maybe a wireless issue?)(controller updates were supposed to address this) - Sometimes hard to balance voice chat and game sound for certain games like Titanfall - A bit pricey for an adapter. I understand you get a lot of functionality out of this thing but the fact that this was an after thought and not something included with the console boggles my mind. Since its $25 it rubs me wrong since Microsoft seems to have blatantly made the decision to switch to a non-stand plug and essentially render all previous aftermarket headsets useless for the Xbox One. I mean come on now, some people have invested hundreds if not thousands of dollars into their nice headsets. Check out this YouTube Video Review: http://youtu.be/AHAo3ncXJQk

The adapter looks and works great with my urbanears cell phone headset. The mic works too. It uses the CTIA 3.5 mm headset standard so Apple headsets do not work.

The unit works well and my wife and I are able to communicate using our Astro A40 headsets. There are random times that her voice or my voice gets a weird robotic/distortion to it. Besides that it works well.

This works perfectly for what it is intended, HOWEVER please Google directions on how to use it with your headset as sometimes there are specific directions needed to make sure party chat works. Once you do that you should be good to go!

    Great for Cell Phone Headsets

Some facts you need to know about this headset: * Has a 3.5mm jack which allows you to use most modern cell phone headsets * Make sure your jack has 3 lines (see picture I included) this is for left audio, right audio, and your mic * Includes a cable to convert the jack down to 2.5mm to use with 360, certain legacy console / phone headsets * Game audio will feed to your headset in addition to chat (new feature and big draw for me)

Works great for many types of headsets

A great accessory for any xbox one owner looking to use another headset to talk with others online. It plugs into the port on the bottom of the controller easily and then you just plug in your headset and you are good to go. There are volume controls on the dongle to balance game and chat audio as well as a mute button to mute the mic. I used this with some astros a40 and its works great, but with a little bit of noticeable static but nothing too bad. I would still recommend this to everyone who wants to chat on xbox live.
