Customers love the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter's compatibility and sound quality, frequently praising its ease of use and convenient volume controls. While some users mentioned connection issues and a bulky design, the positive feedback on functionality and affordability outweighs these concerns. Many appreciate the mute button and find the price reasonable. However, a few users noted concerns about battery life and the adapter's size.

Multiple issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just picked up my adapter the other day. Since then I did the controller update and started using them. I was excited to be able to use my x41s. The problems started right away. First off my controller disconnected twice in game the first night. (Microsoft is aware that it's caused by the headset or update.# Second my x41s are 2.5mm so I have to use the 3.5mm adapter. The cord sticks straight down an inch lower than the adapter/controller so when I hold my controller the way I normally do the cable is sticking me in the chest and pinching the cord. It won't last long doing that and is uncomfortable so I had to go buy an adapter with 90 degree end so it wasn't completely uncomfortable and wouldn't break. That's another $8 to add on to the price to use a headset I already paid $180 for. My friends say that they sound terrible when talking to them and sometimes make loud noises that hurt their ears when I talk. #Again Microsoft knows about the issue). Overall this was a terrible product that seems rushed out to appease microsoft's customers that were angry that they made a change and just thought they would buy new headsets. It was not well thought out and the negatives far outweigh the positives. I wouldn't recommend this to a friend at all except that Microsoft didn't give us a choice if we want to use our expensive headsets unless you buy another expensive headset that won't work with any other device besides the xbox one.

Save $ and use your older headsets!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked this up when I bought Titanfall and it works very well. Much better than I anticipated and can game late at night and not have the TV volume on. I have a Tritton Trigger Halo 4 headset that I originally had to have wires all over the place to use for the 360 and with this it's one wire that plugs into the adapter and I get game sound and chat audio, I love it. The audio isn't always perfect and occasionally it pops, but it isn't anything I can't live with. 98% of the time it isn't there or I don't notice it. Many people are upset that they can't use certain headsets. It's foolish to expect when you purchase something that it will never once become obsolete. When you bought those headsets they were promised to work with a certain system, nothing beyond that, you HAVE to accept that. I'm not saying you have to be happy about it, but you should accept it. Personally I am very thankful they produced this because it's something they didn't HAVE to do, but it was smart they did.

Outstanding - Stereo Headset Adapter for Xbox One
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter is an "Outstanding" product. I was able to connect a Polkaudio headset to the adapter easy (after I updated my controller. It works great with the Xbox One TV app, its awesome. Just go buy it if you have a good (NON-blue tooth) headset that you want to use and best of all, MS headsets are NOT needed :-)

Great adapter
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Switched from Xbox 360 to Xbox One and since the wireless remote from the 360 didn't work with the One, this product was a lifesaver!

Great way to use certain headphones for gaming.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this adapter once the headset that came with the Xbox One console eventually failed. Though it doesn't let you use earbuds from Samsung or Apple, it does allow you to use Turtle Beach brand and other major brands.

Great Product.... When It Works
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have an expensive 360 headset, it's worth trying it, but otherwise I'd recommend just buying an official Xbox One headset. I bought this when it first came out and 3 months after, it broke on me. Just randomly stopped picking up my mic. I quickly scoured the internet to see if there was a fix and quickly saw that this is a wide-spread and HUGE issue with the product. The 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable that comes packaged in shorts out rendering the product useless. Some people were saying they were on their 6th one. I am only on my 2nd but just recently picked it up and am keeping my fingers crossed.

Buy the new controller instead
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This adapter was created because Microsoft wanted to create proprietary hardware. The public wasn't having any of that nonsense so they offered us this so we can continue to use our 3rd party headsets that use 2.5mm jack. The unit itself functions well, I suppose. The chat / game mix leaves a lot to be desired. It has allowed me to continue to use 7.1 mixer so I am somewhat happy. Until yesterday when the 2.5-3.5 adapter cable gave out after about ONLY 3 months of use, if that. You'd be better off in the long run in buying the newer controllers that have the 3.5mm plug rather than this ridiculous modular absurdity. Really expected the Microsoft provided plug to hold up much, much longer than it did.

Great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great product, i don't even have it yet, but i know it is if it allows you to use your last gen product, that is a major plus. But I'm disappointed it took Microsoft this long to come out with a product. It should have been here at launch.
