Customers are saying

Customers love the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter's compatibility and sound quality, frequently praising its ease of use and convenient volume controls. While some users mentioned connection issues and a bulky design, the positive feedback on functionality and affordability outweighs these concerns. Many appreciate the mute button and find the price reasonable. However, a few users noted concerns about battery life and the adapter's size.

Decent design, fail on sound quality

I was hoping to be able to use this right out of the box but I was wrong. There are just a few steps to get this thing working (other than the issues explained later). Plug it into the controller and plug the controller into the Xbox Either the system will recognize the added adapter or you will have to go to settings and update the controller there It takes all of about 5 minutes and it should be working It did work in my case but when I started talking to other people, they said I sounded horrible. Sometimes the Astro headset sounded like a robot on the Xbox 360 but they said this was different. After reading a little more into it, Microsoft admits it has an issue with the adapter with all headsets, not just Astro. They are working on an update to fix this. Also reading into Astro's website, the may have a firmware update for their 2013 mixers that I might look into but it shouldn't be a 3rd parties responsibility to fix Microsoft's issue. Thought this would be an easy thing to test before shipping out. The game/chat buttons seem to only work if you do not use the conversion cable (to use legacy headsets). To adjust the volume of game/chat, you have to use the headset itself. So far, it's been a waste of 25 bucks until Microsoft fixes the issue. I would wait until Microsoft fixes this issue before picking one of these up, if you can find one anyway. In the meantime, back to talking through the Kinect.

I've had to buy three already since the quality is so poor that the unit stops working after a few months. I do not suggest this product at all.

    Xbox One Headset Adapter

    Posted .

I have a SteelSeries H Wireless headset that was supposed to work with the Xbox One headset adapter. The headset is wireless and can do surround sound. For chat to work, you have to plug the headset into the chat adapter, but after about 2 minutes, the controller stops working. This only occurs with a headset plugged in. This does not happen when there is no headset plugged in, even when the headset adapter is still attached to the controller. The controller has been updated with the "manual controller update." I have not found a way to fix this issue. I have contacted Microsoft and of course they were not able to figure it out. People who have been able to get this adapter to work seem to have issues with static or people on the other end cannot hear them clearly. This is a terrible waste of $25 that seems like it does not work for most people, especially the ones who have expensive headsets which is probably the majority of people that would purchase this product so they can use their expensive headsets instead of buying another worthless product from Microsoft.

    NOT for Turtle Beach XL1

I bought this adapter for my $39.00 Turtle Beach XL1 headset that I used for my XBOX 360. This adapter may work for other Turtle Beach headsets but it doesn't work correctly on the XL1 Headset. The problem is no matter how much monkeying around you do with the volume on this adapter or the volume/chat control on the headset, YOU ONLY GET 1/2 VOLUME OR LESS THAN WHEN IT WORKED WITH THE XBOX 360. And on the other hand, I bought the Turtle Beach XO Four and this adapter that came with the headset worked fine, but YOU CANNOT HEAR YOURSELF WHEN YOU TALK ON XO4 HEADSET, TOOK THAT BACK FOR A REFUND ALSO. You have to take the headset halfway off your head to hear yourself when you chat.

Works great but for some reason there is a lot of static when talking to others. Not sure if this is a hardware issue or software. Will need to get this fixed before I would recommend to anyone else

    Terrible distortion

Distortion is just horrible it takes a originally pair of X41's ($240) and makes them sound terrible. Worse than all of this the volune control is non existsnt game and chat are not seperate so u cant hear people talk over game volume. Not imprrssed xbox released w patch to update controller to remedy this all. It still works terrible for me. Although some have ssid they like it. Im not sure if they just dont care but i expect my TB's to sound like TB's not blown garbage bags.
