Needed an adapter to use with my Astro A40 and Best Buy does not carry the Astro M80 by itself so I went ahead and tried Microsoft's version. It works fairly well so far. It is something to consider for those individuals who are in my shoes with A40s but cannot use it with the new XBOX One controllers.

Even though this product is small, it has a lot of uses, including the audio and muting and etc. I liked it a lot

I got a head set for my son and then realized we neede to changes this with the other controller. Having two and not having to remove one is awesome.

I have been using my Turtle beach Xbox 360 headset and with this product was able to transfer use to my Xbox one.

My son is an avid gamer/streamer so he plays much more than the usual player (TannerSlays). He bought this adapter and is very happy with its performance!

So I bought this headset adapter because it is required to chat on X1 unless you use the headset they provide with the system. I'm giving this 5 stars even though it has its short comings just because of one enormous positive for me. First the good: it works. That's honestly all I can say about that. The not as good but still manageable: The adapter makes the controller slightly closer to you which doesn't seem like an issue but with a standard straight headset plugged in Dependig upon how you sit/lay to play your games it may end up resting on your body. This isn't a comfort issue but just potentially a long-term durability concern for the headset wire. The controls generally work although sometimes pushing the controller/person button actually controls the volume instead of needing to use the volume controls. Eh, I don't change them often so this isn't a concern. The extra great bonus: if you were like me and bought wired 360 headphones (Turtle Beaches), since this adapter has all of the volume controls on it, I no longer need to use the wires for my headset. Just plug the one wire you used to plug from the headset into your control box straight into the adapter and bam! Works perfect with no wires to the X1. That alone makes some of the short comings totally minor in my opinion since the "wireless" bonus is so great. Who are we kidding, you need it anyway so just buy it.

I will say that this worked really well, the instructions weren't super clear on how everything works but there is a couple of youtube videos that help clear everything up. I would still recommend a good pair of self powered head phones for the best sound quality but this works good in either case.

Going to Xbox one has been such a pain, and having to get this adapter for old turtle beaches adds to the list.

We bought a new headset and realized when we got home that this piece is needed before using. So we went back to Best Buy to buy it.

Gave my first one to my son and bought this one for me. I have never had any problems with the first and the second is just as good!
