    I purchased this so I could control the volume on my headphones without using XBOX's Console UI. It was a pain to control the volume by the XBOX user console. Now I just use my controller with my headphones plugged in to the controller at night.

    My son had some issues with the adapter but it may have been the controller. So I don't think the adapter was bad just the controller. It converted his Xbox 360 Turtle Bay headset to use with his Xbox One.

    This adapter is one of the downside of the audio set-up Microsoft decided to implement in the Xbox One. It is necessary for chat and the use of any headset terminated with a 3.5mm cable. This accessory should be included in the console package and is somewhat extraneous.

    I spent a lot of money on my turtle beach headset for the Xbox 360 and was disappointed that I couldn't use it until this came along! Now my headset works like it did when I had my 360! Saved me lots of money!

    I baught this about 3 months after I had my Xbox one. It's nice to just be able to pour it into the controller but having to use a headphone jack adapter is a mayor pain half the time I can't figure out where I left it but being able to adjust game and chat volum is a plus

    I was surprised to find out that I could use different sets of headphones that had a microphone built in for chat features. Previously had to have a mute on the cord between the phones and controller.
