Hubby wanted this so that he could use sound for his games and we could still watch TV. We have an old flatscreen below our wall mounted TV so he could play his games in the living room.

My son loves this product so he can enjoy the quality of sound and the size of devise he can view his game on, he uses it at home and at college!

Note that depending on what you'll be using it with will determine your success with it. I use a turtle beach headset meant for the 360 and just attached it. Had some minor issues like an update and having to at times having to turn the controller on and off to reconnect also very important you can't control chat level and audio separately so if that bugs you then yea sorry. But I actually don't mind the given balance it has , it doesn't get to be too much. This piece is not the issue though it's the headset so just take that into consideration.

This adapter is great part of your gaming arsenal it provides mobility and adaptability for your headset. Very easy to use and conect to your gaming system

Love being able to plug in a normal headset for chatting and then a better headset for gameplay experience. Great investment and Xbox chat headsets are so unreliable this makes it worth it.

This receives three stars for the fact that the Xbox one controller requires this for headsets other than the included set with the xboxone. Beware the adapter does not include an actual talkback cable.

We bought this adapter so we wouldn't have to buy a new headset, since ours is from the 360. It works great and we love that the controls are right on the controller for easy access.

I purchased a set of headphones for my gaming PC and I wanted to use them on my Xbox One. They worked flawlessly as advertised. You do have to update your remote but that was no problem.

The old xbox one controllers didn't have a 3.5mm head phone jack. Now I can use the same headset on both my xbox and ps4. It has great sound quality and blocks outside noise as well.

It is a decent adapter for the turtle beach headset we bought for the 360. Will eventually get a headset for the 1. Would recommend for someone temporarily.

it comes n handy when its late and everyone is asleep because you can play the audio from the tv onto the headset but still hear your friends

I bought the XBOX One Stereo Headset Adapter so I could be able to use my older XBOX 360 Turtle Beach Headphones since it used a different plug on the controller -- works great!

Based on all the reviews it has worked great. The controls work great easy to use. Easy to plug in just have to remember to update the firmware on the controller before trying to use it

I purchased a Bose QC25 headphones (with noise cancellation) a while ago and that this stero adapter would allow me to talk with my friends on Xbox live. Therefore I had to return the adapter.

I bought this to be able to use an xbox 360 headset with my xb1. It worked for sound, but when using the mic it was hit or miss....mores miss. Returned it and bought a headset made for xb1.

My son needed this piece for his Turtle Beach headphones. He loves them and it works great in combination. A bit pricey though given you still have to buy the headset.

I bought this to use with my headphones and headset I already own. It works fine for that purpose. It can be hit or miss with microphone detection though. I have found that often I have to open the party app and start a party to get the mic working when it should just work right when I plug it in. Also, it adds bulk and can be annoying if you have a larger headphone jack if you are playing laying down, so it jabs you in your belly or chest etc. The buttons are un-intuitive as well. You can't adjust just the volume of the game or chat, they are adjusted in relationship to each other, which can become annoying. This product would be 4 stars if those were the only problems. The main reason for the 3 stars is the update process. Now, I got this adapter, and in anticipation of it updated my controllers the night before. What I didn't know is that I should have waited until I had the adapter plugged into the controllers with a headset plugged in to do it. Now, every time I plug in a headset, my XBOX asks for a controller update. When I try to do it, it stalls and won't complete. If I take the adapter out and try it, it says my controller is already updated. You can get around this by cancelling the update prompt, but it is annoying to do that every time I plug in my headset. I also am not sure if I have the update that fixes some of the audio problems with this adapter as I do hear some pops and noises that I think were supposed to be addressed with an update. This is all very frustrating to me, and there is very little to be found on google for help. Unfortunately, this is the only option to use headphones with the XBOX One, unless you connect through optical or home theater. In summary, if you get this, don't update your controllers until you have it plugged in WITH headphones plugged in as well.

If you still have some of the original controllers you will need this to use some of the better headsets that require a 3.5m jack. Works as intended and no complaints

I didn't want to buy another headset when my existing Xbox 360 turtle beach headset was working perfectly. Best Buy reps suggested this item, and it works as described and promised.

The standard controller doesn't have a 3.5mm headphone jack so I had to buy this. It works great and gives more functionality than the standard headset that came with the console.
