||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This piece is necessary in order to use your headphones on an xbox one with chat enabled. you can use wireless headphones without going thru the controller, but you cant chat without it. I hate that because this item works fine at first, but pretty soon, you will start to lose connection to your chat every once in a while and will have to unplug it and plug it back in a couple times to get the chat to work again. I have tried several different headphones/earbuds and also three different controllers and two different Xboxes and it does the same on them all so it has to be this piece that is the problem. One of mine completely stopped working and I just bought another one because this is the only option there is if I want both game sound and chat. The new one works fine, but I had to unplug it and plug it back in yesterday. If there is another option, I don't know about it and I have done research. But when it works, it does what its supposed to.

Had to order a new wire for it separately but that was only 5 bucks and I expected some problems when I bought the damaged one. Now it works great. I use the turtle beach headset I have for my 360. Saved me a lot of money on a new headset.
