I am an avid gamer and I was going through at least 2 AA batteries a week. The costs add up and so buying a charging cable and rechargeable battery were an essential. The extra controller was really just a bonus for me!

Rechargeable is the only way to go!

The Xbox One controllers tend to stay on for a while even when not in use which drains normal batteries quickly. This rechargeable option will save you time and money in the long run.
