I love being wireless with my Xbox Elite Controller, but this Adapter heats up and disconnects my controller from my PC mid game and it is very frustrating.

Xbox One controllers and above ONLY!!!

This is NOT a generic Xbox wireless adapter. Outside the issues others have had with installing proper drivers, this will NOT work with an Xbox 360 controller. It is ONLY for Xbox One and above controllers. It does not say this in the marketing materials, but is hidden in a small side note on Microsoft's site. If you're trying to upgrade or replace a broken receiver for your existing Xbox controller, do NOT buy this. IT WILL NOT WORK.

Pairing only worked for about 1 week. So if you keep your controller paired you're good. But after that... Your SOL if you ever need to pair it again.

    Not so Plug and Play

Not so plug and play, I had to spend 30 mins to find some drivers for it to work. If it was an average consumer they would just return it as defect. Not even their support website has a solution.

I had a hell of a time installing this thing and i'm an experienced IT guy. Windows 10 will not recognize the device automatically. Downloading the latest drivers from Microsoft also did not work. They recommend checking windows 10 update to install it automatically and I imagine it works for some but did not for mine. I had to spend a lot of time searching for an older driver and installed it manually and THAT finally recognized the adapter after a reboot. It now works as expected after all that but what a ridiculously unnecessary pain.

    Connectivity an issue

I bought this adapter to allow me to connect my headset (Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Wireless) to my PC. The headset I own is designed for Xbox and the wireless adapter is the only way I can connect my headset to my PC. The only issue I have had with the adapter is, during firefights or times of intense sound, my headset will often lose connection to the adapter. It will reconnect after a couple of seconds but if I'm being honest it is very annoying. It's so bad I just purchased a new headset rather than to continue to deal with it. I would not recommend purchasing this to connect to a headset.

Works as expected but unnecessary if your xbox controller and pc support bluetooth or a usb connection. Wired connection will always be the most responsive.

Super over priced!! If you are that big of a gamer that you need to use your Xbox direct headphones to play Xbox on the PC then are you really that big of an Xbox gamer? That’s literally all it’s good for.... just use regular BT headphones if your playing xbox on your pc ..... or buy a cord for $5 the quality will be better. Oh and it screws with your WiFi so you’ll mostly likely be hard wired in some way or another

I switched to this method from using Bluetooth hoping the connection drops would go away. It DIDN'T. If your PC has Bluetooth then don't waste your money on this.
