It’s been years since I’ve used one, and was expecting better quality. The base controller does not come with a rechargeable battery pack. You have to spend another $20-$30 if you don’t want to keep buying AA batteries. Come on Microsoft… Sony Dual Shock controllers all come with rechargeable barriers built in… At $60 I would expect this controller to be rechargeable. The A-B-X-Y buttons felt cheap and were not enjoyable to use. They were hard to press, kinda sticky, and overall just not a great experience. Triggers, bumpers, and sticks were fine enough. No complaints. Connecting to my Windows 11 desktop was a breeze and made playing certain games on PC way more enjoyable. Controller is customizable if you use the Xbox app on your PC. If you don’t mind spending $60 for a mediocre controller experience with no rechargeable batteries then this is the one for you. Otherwise, you might be better off going with a third party controller or upgrading to the Elite controller. I ended up returning it and getting an Elite controller instead.

Great remote!

I bought this to replace it. First of all, it works fine with early model XBox One. Pairing the controller to the console was easy. I had to look this up on line to verify where the pairing button on the console was. This controller has slightly more texture than the original controller. I like the feel of it in my hands. The directional pad also feels better.

That said, the improvements that are there are appreciated. It's nice to have the dedicated screenshot button and the texture on it makes it feel a bit grippier overall, especially if your hands start to get sweaty. I recommend getting some quality rechargeable batteries, at least 4 so you can charge two while the other two are in use.
