Good but low battery life

I like the controller, but the battery life on it is significantly lower than other controllers I have. I feel like I rotate through batteries frequently. I'm not sure how well it works with the rechargeable battery pack.

But, I got it to play Fallout: New Vegas on my gaming computer, and it works great when plugged in. No complaints, except that learning the button mapping is a little bit of a struggle for this Playstation person!
