They have not improved much on the engineering but have been relatively creative with their designs

Though it was maybe my battery packs so I swapped to fresh batteries, same my happened. Changed those batteries for others and the same thing happened yet again. Poor experience but also still recommend this overall because I know it was a weird glitch.

My only issues with it is I didn't realize the bottom of it was white, I may swap the back out with a black controller to make it look better. Other than that it came in perfect condition and works great

It fits in my hands better than the old xbox controllers. The D-pad has great feedback and fluidity, the joysticks are very comfortable but my favorite is the smoothness and THOCC of the triggers.

The bumpers are a small bit delicate they've broken once since I got it last year, but it was easy to replace. The important part though is that it's only around 100Hz polling over BT for me, and that's simply too little for me. For most people it might be fine but I'll be going with a DualSense for my primary controller from now on.
