I prefer first-party PlayStation controllers, but it always seemed to me like more PC games have native Xbox controller support. I figured I'd make the jump, as a result. Overall, I'm disappointed with this controller. It feels okay to use, and while I still don't like the Xbox face buttons, the S|X controller is way better than past Xbox controllers -- when it works. That's the problem, though. The fact that this thing has not been able to stay connected over Bluetooth since I got it has made it impossible to like, let alone love. There was a period of time where I had a fix in place by installing my PC's WiFi antenna, but that no longer works (other BT devices connect no problem). The controller connects and then disconnects frequently whenever I start a game. The only way I can get it to work is through a wired connection. Ultimately, until this thing is patched with a fix, I can't recommend it. I've tried reinstalling drivers, updating the controller, reconnecting the controller, everything. I don't know what changed, as there was a brief period where it was working, but that's no longer the case. I know there's a separate USB dongle that may work better, but there's no chance I'm spending another $25+ on a controller that's already cost me $80 after accounting for the rechargeable battery I had to buy separately. Seriously feels like a waste of $60. The second they make a black PS5 controller, I'm jumping back to Sony's ship for that.

If you've already updated the controller's firmware and updated Windows 10 on your PC to the most recent version, another solution is to connect it to your PC with a USB-C cable. The LB and RB are also so much better to press. The grip back side where your fingers are placed are heavily textured and does give a better grip but it's still just plastic and no rubber. You can also activate the "pairing mode" without having to power up the controller which will also turn on the console. However, 4-stars because the XBOX controller d-pad simply blows. The old ones aren't any better, but at least could pass for fighting games.
