We're sorry there's an issue with the connection on this Xbox wireless controller. First, we suggest making sure that your Xbox console is fully updated and that the firmware on the controller is also updated. It was easy for him to connect to his computer by using his usb port to type c cable. There's also bluetooth connectivity. The controls are very easy to use, so I'm glad he loves the controller. The time I bought it was when it was $10 off so it was worth the price.
