You could see scratches on the plastic and the movement wasn't smooth. I assume this won't be true for all controllers but after this I just upgraded to the Elite.

Yes you can remap those buttons to any other but the controller will not save it unless you reconfigure a and b to the directonal pad.

Every new Xbox controller comes with a 90-day limited manufacturer's warranty from Microsoft. At most 8 to 10 months before returning. Tips buy the warranty.
