I've never owned a Microsoft controller and thought I would try it, because my cheaper logitech controllers were disappointedly dying after a couple of years of use. The best controller I ever had was an Alienware control that lasted about 15 years and I had grown to expect all controllers to be reliable. So, I decided to try this controller. After only a few months use, it developed a problem that I had never heard of called drifting. It drives me insane. The control feels so much more substantive than my logitech controls, but it failed so much faster and costs so much more. I'm seriously disappointed. When it worked, I preferred its ergonomics and responsiveness. When it doesn't work, it makes Windows scroll uncontrollably and ruins gameplay.

They made it slightly smaller, a negative point for me. Mine will freeze up occasionally at random so I looked into this and found it was a common problem resolved with a firmware update. I updated the firmware and it did not fix the problem. I'm hoping this is just a bug in a new product that Microsoft works out soon.
