Only time will tell if the normal Xbox controller will have the same points of failure as their Elite controller counterparts. If you play any game(s) that heavily use the shoulder buttons (LB/RB) get these controllers and not the Elite controllers that are known to have heavy failures in those buttons. My second Elite controller's RB button is now failing less than a year of ownership.
