It is purple or blue depending on how the light hits it, and it has a very interesting texture, almost like spray paint. The rubber grips on the back also feel more rubbery than my normal controller. Overall very happy with it.

great upgrade from Xbox one, but needs small tweak

Still with Microsoft would get with the program on recharging tech for batteries. Buying AA's in this day and age is not cool.

I've bought six of these so far for various uses and never had a problem. Pairing with Xbox is easy enough. Pairing with PC is pretty easy too. I miss the Xbox 360 series controller LED that let you know which player you were though. Get this controller over a 3rd party, cheaper alternative. And get lithium AA batteries. They last longer and leak battery acid.
