However, when I opened the package, it appeared to be an open-box item. The box was not sealed, there were no batteries, and the associated paperwork was disheveled. So, I drove all the way to the Best Buy to exchange the controller. This defeated the whole purpose of ordering it online. The employee who helped me was friendly and the exchange went smoothly. Anyways, my son loves this controller and that's all that really matters to me.

Every new Xbox controller comes with a 90-day limited manufacturer's warranty from Microsoft. I love the color. but, The QC issues with this controller like every other is still a problem. The first one I purchased elsewhere, Had Stickdrift within the first 3 months. (Left analog) The company I purchased it thu offered a warranty for 3 years for only $8. Including Accidental damage. I was able to secure a full refund. Now opening this one, I fear the same will happen under normal use. The bad thing, BestBuy not offering any warranty other than the 30day return window. Sure you could grab the ridiculously expensive Geek Squad protection. But not worth it in my opinion. All in all I would buy elsewhere.
