Poor quality, inconsistent lifetime

I usually have a controller last 3-6 months when I am playing 10-20 hours a week, I have been playing much less recently and I am still wearing these out way faster the last 2 times. Microsoft is cutting corners and if I could switch to PlayStation controller I would. But thinking about changing when I play competitive games sounds miserable
