I was a little apprehensive on this preorder but wonderfully surprised as to the gameplay and story, must have for LOTR fans! I look forward to the DLC. Buy it!

This game is most definitely Assassins Creed and the Batman Arkham games smashed together and peppered with LotR flavor. If you don't like those games, chances are this one won't do it for you either. The nemesis system, which lets Orcs rise and fall in power and rank based on your and their own interactions, is really well done. So much so, that I spent more time screwing around with the Orc Hierarchy then playing through the bland story. The game was worth full price to me, but lack of multiplayer definitely hurts its longevity. A must-buy when it goes under that under $40 sweet spot.

I love this game -- the combat, the graphics, the nemesis system. So cool! This is the first game that I will platinum in less than a month (2 trophies to go).

game is unbelievable. from the graphics to the sound. the story is great and continues the middle earth saga well.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor - PlayStation 4 was a game low on my radar until the hype machine began to roll about a week before it's released. The buzz around this game is reason I purchased it and I'm glad I did. As a fan 3rd person action/adventure games like tomb raider, the uncharted series and assassin's creed series I would place Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor - PlayStation 4 in the same class. A lot like Assassin's creed in terms of game play but still it's on unique experience. If you're into those styles of games you'd really enjoy this. Highly recommended.

Excellent game. Fantastic graphics and great story. Very challenging as well makes this one hard to put down.

I'll admit that with the influx of October/November games, SoM has been put on the back burner for a while. That being said, I look forward to getting back into the mix soon. By far the most engrossing aspect is the Nemesis system, which allows for rivalries not only among you and numerous, powerful Orc leaders, but also plays out like a political game, allowing for you to intervene in the Orc hierarchy. Other games will copy this, and for good reason.

Great game play. Fighting is tough to start out but fun, gets easier with abilities. I love the nemesis system with previously encountered foes. Brand is great to control minions and unleash havoc.

The game is great, with lots of things to do in an open world, and the dynamic nemesis system means that all sorts of unexpected and cool things happen.

Even if you're not a fan of the Lord of the Rings, like myself, you should find Middle-earth to be an exciting game. The characters and acting are on point and the action is extreme. I would like a sequel please! One of the best games in 2014.

I am still playing this game and I enjoy the open (sandbox) concept. I love sneaking around or charging into battle. Definitely a must for PS4 owners.

Didn't know very much about LotR but this game is a separate story with familiar LotR characters. Awesome open world game with super-addicting combat.

I am not sure what I was expecting out of this game... but it is a ton of fun. Excellent graphics, fun gameplay, engaging story. This game has it all.

Outstanding game. Great graphics, plot, and game engine. The nemesis system is really unique and adds to the realness of the gameplay. Worth the wait.

mix between assassin's creed and far cry, with similar elements to batman arkham city. absolutely fantastic game play. very intuitive and great story.

This is one of the best games out yet, for the PS4... The vast open world is HUGE - lots of missions - excellent graphics Wish the story was longer -

The game over all is pretty cool, but it definitely has the same feel as assassins creed, with the climbing and findable items such as artifacts and such. It does get repetitive after a while, but not as bad as I feel assassins creed was. All in all, I would recommend this game at the $30 price range.

I've put over 40 hours into this game and I'm still not done with it. Mostly because I enjoy senseless slaying of Uruks. I feel like this is a game I will spend obscene amounts of time on trying to fully complete for that platinum trophy.

The story is amazing for LotR fans. It fits so cool I the story lines of the books. The combat is insanely fun. Get this game. I've loved it a ton.
