Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the engaging gameplay, compelling story, and innovative Nemesis System in Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. Many also praise the game's beautiful open world and responsive controls. However, some players find the difficulty challenging, and a few note limited replayability after completing the main story. The game's strengths clearly outweigh its weaknesses for most players.

It's a great game.... Never feels like ur fighting the same leaders so always feels a little fresh. I know nothing about Lord of the Rings but still enjoyed the game and game play. Kinda like assassin's Creed with the parkour climbing and batman combat mechanics.

Take Assassins Creed, the coolest parts of Tolkein lore and this new Nemesis system - which randomizes specific enemies so we never fight the same Orc twice - throw them in a bottle of grog and mix it up and you have Shadows of Mordor. Very fun. Very satisfying.

This game is amazing. Not only is it set in a part of Middle-Earth we have yet to see (outside the Silmarillion), the game is beautiful and fun. Every fight feels completely epic, and the scope is amazing.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is the most fun I've had with an open-world game in a very long time.. it's hard to imagine any fan of open-world action having anything less than a great time with this game.

The graphics are nice, and the gameplay is great with the nemesis system, and if you get defeated in game, your nemesis will level up and will remember you the next time. This is a sleeper game of the year.

The combat and the Nemesis System is what primarily holds this game up for gamers like me who aren't into Lord of The Rings. The platforming is essentially Assassin's Creed if it were competent.

Seems most open world games are now following the same formulas. Some story missions with a mostly forgettable story. (If you don't know Lord of the rings well, there's almost no story here.) Lots of minor side quests that don't really reward player. On to game play; most missions are typical assassinate boss, chiefs, or warlords while gutting minions. Agony occurs randomly when multiple chiefs appear in the same fight. Player has almost no change and is forced to run away. The glitch is when the battle doesn't reset when you come back from running. Multiple times I've has bosses that were stuck at the health level they were at when I ran, and then couldn't be hurt when I returned. I'd have to complete a different mission for the game to "reset" that battle. Upgraded skills make you feel very powerful until the random boss you can't hurt takes you down a peg. Overall good game.

i'm a professional gamer . I would have to say this game is easily one of my favorites of all time. It really is a cross between assassin's creed and batman, with the whole middle earth story tied into it.

Great game for gamers looking for action/adventure video game, the story is not that strong but the game will keep you busy with tons of side missions. What Shadow of Mordor really stand for is the figthing mechanics, a hybrid between Batman series and AC.

It's a good game and I like the style of it, probably because it reminds of the batman game play. The story it's self isn't as interesting to me but probably just because I'm not familiar with the franchise of Lord of the Rings. Still recommend it though.

Awesome game kind of a hybrid action/assassin's creed game. Fun captures the middle earth experience nicely. Wouldn't play in front of the kids though very violet and gory. The mature rating is for real!

Even for someone who doesn't follow Middle-earth stuff like the fanboys, this game is great. Combat is similar to Assassin's Creed but in the best way.
